Urdu Lyrics Song Explanation

The song as explained from lyricist’s perspective. This happy-yet-melancholic romantic song is a soulful Ghazal that also appeals to the younger generations thanks to its beautiful melody and modern soundscape with music arrangement supported by many live instruments played by music maestros of their respective crafts. The accomplished ghazal singer delivers smooth, emotive vocals that express the feeling behind every word and couplet, leaving listeners gently humming the tune long after it ends. Through the lyrics, the poet recalls the joyful moments of love when he would praise the beloved’s graceful beauty, while also expressing the pain of separation. The ghazal culminates in a striking Sufi-style couplet that elevates the emotional intensity of the poem. Listen and cherish this beautiful Ghazal exploring the figures of speech used in every couplet explained in detail here, along with meanings of difficult words. 1. दिल के छाले गर छुपाना छोड़ देंगे, डरते हैं लोग 'इश्क़ करना छोड़ देंगे, dil ke chhaale gar chhupaanaa chho.D de.nge, darte hai.n log 'ishq karnaa chho.D de.nge, The poet says, if I stop hiding wounds of my heart that I have earned from my love relationship, I am afraid it will expose to people the painful reality of love and they will stop falling in love altogether. 2. ना कुचलना फूलों को पैरों तले तुम, भँवरे गुल पे मँडराना छोड़ देंगे, naa kuchalnaa phuulo.n ko pairo.n tale tum, bha.nvare gul pe ma.nDaraanaa chho.D de.nge, The poet, through this beautiful couplet wherein he uses metaphor of rose for her in the second line and of a black bee for himself and of black bees’ act of circling roses for his love, says if she cruelly tramples flowers under her feet, he will stop loving her for that cruelty like black bees stopping going around and fluttering around roses as a gesture of their attraction for their beauty and fragrance. 3. 'इश्क़ ये दामन किसी का थाम ले गर, ग़म के अंगारे दहकना छोड़ देंगे, 'ishq ye daaman kisii kaa thaam le gar, Gam ke a.ngaare dahaknaa chho.D de.nge, In this couplet, the poet, simply states the fact about purity and divinity of love and says, if love pervades anyone’s heart, then the singeing charcoals of pains and sorrows will stop burning that person’s heart and such a person will be set free of pains and sorrows of life. 4. ज़िंदगी ने अब सताया इस कदर के, मौत से अब हम तो डरना छोड़ देंगे, zindagii ne ab sataayaa is kadar ke, maut se ab ham to Darnaa chho.D de.nge, In this climactic couplet, the poet heightens his expression and expresses his deepest anguish, life has given him so much pain and sorrow that he is no more afraid of death as it can’t give him more pain than life. With this philosophy, the song fades with repeating the hook and leaving the listener cherish the melody and beautiful wordings.
