Urdu Lyrics Song Explanation

The song as explained from lyricist’s perspective. This song is a fusion of depth of Urdu, sweetness of Sanskrit and familiarity of Hindi all adorned by the purest form of timeless Ghazal tradition, culture and mellifluous Music. Innocence of romance, happinesses, pains and romantic complaints all rolled into one song that unleashes the healing power of music. The metaphors enhancing the poetic depth and the literary style is sure to connect with the today’s empowered generations. 1. उन के दिल के हम ज़रा सा पास होते, ग़म में भी तो ख़ुशियोँ के एहसास होते, un ke dil ke ham zaraa saa paas hote, Gam me.n bhii to KHushiyo.n ke ehsaas hote, The poet says, if I had even a little proximity to her heart, let alone full-blown love, all my pains and sorrows would then carry a beautiful tinge of happinesses. 2. प्यार उन को गर ज़रा सा हम से होता, दूर दुनिया से, ख़ुशी के पास होते, pyaar un ko gar zaraa saa ham se hotaa, duur duniyaa se, KHushii ke paas hote, The poet, with heavy heart, further expresses his deepest regrets, if she had even a little reciprocal feeling of love like in my heart, I would be far away from this world (metaphorically a place of pains), I would be near to happinesses. 3. बे-तसव्वुर से वो कोई ख़्वाब होते, आईनों को फिर तो ये आभास होते, be-tasavvur se vo koii KHvaab hote, aaiino.n ko phir to ye aabhaas hote, बे-तसव्वुर - without imagination आभास - feeling of emergence In this couplet, the poet paints his most amorous and vivid imagination of her dreamy existence in his mind, if she were some of my dreams without her own image in it (that is of course highly unlikely as she is always there in all my dreams and she would still be there in those dreams though beyond ordinary sense of human perception), in that case mirrors would still carry the feeling of her reflection as her presence around me and within me is so strong that if were in front of mirrors they would reflect her in my reflection. 4. हम मोहब्बत से ना यूँ बेज़ार होते, बे-तकल्लुफ़ से कोई इख़्लास होते, ham mohabbat se na yuu.n bezaar hote, be-takalluf se koii iKHlaas hote, बेज़ार - displeased बे-तकल्लुफ़ - formalityless, informal इख़्लास - relation of friendship and love In this climactic couplet, the poet heightens his expression and expresses his deepest anguish about the philosophical fact of formalities in relationships rather than closeness, I would not be so much disenchanted and displeased with the emotion of love, had there been any friendship or love relationship without any formalities and full of purity and intimacy. With this philosophy, the song fades with repeating the hook and leaving the listener cherish the melody and beautiful wordings.
